New social sharing tool unites employees and drives engagement
Powell Software has launched a new social sharing tool to create internal brand ambassador programs. Our employee advocacy templates for the digital workplace establish an easily accessible space in your corporate intranet designed to engage employees as brand advocates.
By allowing employees to share corporate content with their social networks, marketing create internal influencers, sales will see more qualified leads, and HR reap the benefits highly engaged employees bring.
Building an advocacy program in the digital workplace
Our new employee advocacy tool is available to Powell Intranet present and future customers and bridges both the intranet and Teams. Built on Microsoft 365 and utilizing gamification technology, employees are encouraged to share company content and collateral through their personal social media channels and are rewarded for doing so.
Within the employee advocacy space, marketing can add content they want to be shared by employees. All the marketing manager then needs to do is add a link. The title, description, and image are automatically generated.
The advocacy tool also further suggests popular content others are sharing. Employees can then just click a button for the content to be shared to their social networks, like LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter.
Employees can swiftly access content that’s relevant to them based on preselected information and keep up-to-date on key content as it is shortlisted, saving time in sourcing and sharing content that’s of interest to them.
“It’s proven that companies with employee advocacy programs have higher employee engagement and can further dramatically benefit from their employees becoming powerful social media forces,” says Matthieu Silbermann, Chief Product Officer at Powell Software. “Employees of socially engaged companies are more likely to stay at their company, feel optimistic about their company’s future, and believe their company is more competitive.”
Gamification and rewards for employee social sharing
Employees themselves benefit directly from sharing company content. Our employee advocacy tool encourages participation through its gamification features. For every social post, employees can earn points, badges and compete for a spot on the leader-board. Fostering healthy competition means marketing has an easier job creating internal brand ambassadors.
Smart bridging technology between the company intranet and Teams means marketing can start discussions and offer tips on social sharing best practices. With employees having different levels of digital dexterity, marketing, as experts in social media, can share their skills.

User-generated content and participation
Employees can also offer to write or share their own content for the company through the employee advocacy tool. Marketing can review suggested content before adding to the advocacy area or helping curate further.
By giving everyone a voice to contribute to the company’s developments, ambassador communities are created to unite employees, inspire engagement and build a more cohesive culture.

Advocacy benefits for the entire organization
Our employee advocacy tool delivers benefits to every department including marketing and communications teams while uniting employees around a shared goal, building stronger connections.
Silbermann continues: “Employee advocacy is an “Advertising Value Equivalent” for the Marketing team that contributes to making a company an influencer on social media. Sales also benefit, over 70% of sales teams that use social selling outperform their peers or exceed quotas.
HR can even help advertise external positions – within an article format – that can then be shared on the employees’ social channels, with rewards offered for sharing.
Building a sense of belonging in the hybrid workplace
“Giving employees an easy-to-access channel through which to express themselves creates a real sense of belonging which is ever more important in today’s hybrid workplace where teams are more dispersed and remote. Our templates have been securely designed on Microsoft 365 to create a positive and fun experience for employees while at the same time helping to fulfill the company’s marketing goals and drive business growth.
“But establishing a strong employee advocacy culture requires strong and efficient relationships between the marketing and communications teams, and other departments. Technology plays a key role, providing teams with quick access to information, an easy search system, an inclusive and engaging interface, and smart sharing features.
Silbermann concludes: “Employees are a company’s most valuable resource and its best advocates, and Powell’s digital workplace tool makes it easy for everyone in the company to take action and be part of the social success.”
